The Ghost of Christmas Past is a fictional character in A Christmas Carol, a story by English novelist Charles Dickens.
The Spirit is one of 3 ghosts to visit Ebenezer Scrooge and described in thee book as an androgynous figure with an indeterminate age. The figure is said to have blazing lights on its head like a candle.
The spirit shows scrooge scenes from his past that had played out around Christmas time. This was done not only to demonstrate to scrooge that he needed to change, but also give the viewer/reader, a sense of why the scrooge is so…scroogie.
